Meridian Group, through "Meridian Transportes Marítimos S.A.", took a decisive step in its evolution by entering into a joint venture with The Adani Harbour International DMCC (TAHID), a subsidiary of global conglomerate Adani Group, a strategic agreement that consolidates the Argentine firm as a key partner in maritime infrastructure projects of international scope.
For Meridian Group, an Argentine-owned company and a benchmark in the national shipping industry, founded in 1986 under the name "Marítima Meridian" and led by its founding partner, Jorge Samarín—this agreement marks a new milestone in its strategy of expansion and modernization of services. The alliance with one of the world's leading port infrastructure and logistics operators strengthens its global positioning and reaffirms its commitment to innovation, sustainable growth, and the development of solutions with high operational complexity.
Key Infrastructure and Operational Vanguard
The agreement entails the construction of six specialized vessels. These units will be designated to assist the maneuvering of vessels operating with LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) for export in the San Matías Gulf, Rio Negro Province.
The new vessels will be operational in Argentina during 2027 and will represent a key contribution to the development of maritime infrastructure and services linked to the LNG industry.
